Michael Cassidy

Michael Cassidy

There is little doubt that sophomore Michael Cassidy’s hard work has rubbed off on his teammates and friends. He and the rest of the golf team recently won their Regional championship.

Cassidy’s talent comes at a hefty price, though. After long hours on the course after school, Michael is always looking to get better and give himself a chance to help the team.

Sophomore teammate Scott Seaman describes Michael as, “the one at the end of practice wanting to go to the range and get the extra work in.” His extra work showed as the Scouts didn’t lose a match after a couple of tough breaks to begin the year.

Not only is Michael a great golfer, he’s an even better person, according to sophomore Edward Torosian.

“He’s a great golfer, and an even better person, on and off the course,” he said.

As the golf season nears the end, it is almost time for him to switch gears and get ready for the lacrosse season. Last year, Cassidy was one of only three freshmen to make the very competitive Varsity team.

It’s no easy task to make the varsity lacrosse team, let alone, as a freshman. Just another example of how Michael’s hard work and dedication have led to success throughout his short high school athletic career.

Just a freshman last year, Cassidy got along with his teammates just fine. “He’s a nice dude and he’s got a lot of swag,” said junior Mac Uihlein.

Cassidy is the perfect example of what it means to be hardworking and dedicated. Whether it be on the golf course and leading his team to conference championships or on the lacrosse field, Michael’s hard work most definitely reflects on to his teammates as well.
