Just when Season Eight of Game of Thrones couldn’t get any more hyped up – On April 9th, it was announced that For the Throne, an album inspired by the show, would be released on April 26th in celebration of the long-awaited final season.

After two episodes of the final season, For the Throne is releasing days before perhaps the most anticipated episode, The Battle of Winterfell.

The 14-song album is packed with a very diverse cast of artists. Hip-hop superstars such as Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky, and Joey Bada$$  are combined with alt-rock bands like The Lumineers and The National.

The star-studded album also features pop star Ellie Goulding, R&B duo Chloe X Halle, Jacob Banks, James Arthur, Lennon Stella, the late Lil Peep, country star Maren Morris, Matthew Bellamy, Mumford & Sons, Rosalía, A.CHAL, SZA, The Weeknd, Ty Dolla $ign, and X Ambassadors.

A project of this format with Hollywood inspiration draws a lot of similarities to last year’s Black Panther The Album Music From And Inspired By, just with a new theme in one of the most hyped TV shows.

The album is available for pre-order now and three songs are already available to stream. “Kingdom of One” by Maren Morris, “Power is Power” by SZA, The Weeknd, and Travis Scott, and “Nightshade” by The Lumineers are available on all platforms.

Game of Thrones fans and music fans alike should be excited about For the Throne. Be sure to give it a listen on Friday.
