Maggie Bires

Maggie Bires

Junior Maggie Bires is a triple threat, and I’m not just referring to being a triplet. Maggie is a varsity cheerleader, active member of Women’s Club and Student Council, as well as being a crucial part of the track team. Maggie excels in everything she does; however, she’s very humble when it comes to her accomplishments. When asked about herself she’ll tell you, “I don’t know; I’m pretty boring” but this is far from the truth.

This season Maggie will be pole vaulting and triple jumping with ease after twisting her ankle towards the end of the last track season, and she is fully prepared to stay on top of her game this year. Maggie’s cheer skills are also impeccable as her bright smile can be seen from even the top of the bleachers as she performs and shows off her skills, which include blackflips and tucks.

Maggie’s not only amazing at everything she does, but she is also a genuinely nice person whose humor can brighten up any situation. Her triplet sister Sarah describes her as “one of the kindest people I know; she is able to put a smile on anyone’s face. She is extremely versatile: a variety athlete, excellent student, and great friend.” Her compassion towards others makes her not only a great friend but also a great teammate and classmate.

“As Maggie’s close friend, I can honestly say that she is one of the funniest, optimistic, and most caring people I have ever met. I’ve known her a very long time, and can honestly say that she has always been genuine and finds the bright side of things, as she has done for me many of times.” says lifelong friend Margaret Matson. “She is so fun to be around, everyone loves Maggie. I don’t know what I would do without her humor, lightheartedness, and motivation. I have no idea what my life would be like without her!”

Maggie is loved by those whom she encounters in every aspect of her life, and you can be sure to see her thrive in any situation whether it be on a team, in the classroom, or anywhere else; she’ll be sure to make you feel at home.
