Thursday’s 13: Kellie Jean Camardo

Thursdays 13: Kellie Jean Camardo

Kellie Jean is a senior at Lake Forest High School and is a member for the varsity dance team.

When did you start dancing?

I started when I was eight and haven’t stopped since!

What is the hardest part about the sport?

Definitely giving 110% consistently. Learning how to push yourself to be better than the day before is a challenging mental game.

What has been the most memorable moment you have experienced on the dance team?

Running onto the nationals floor for the first time. I remember it very vividly, and it is probably one of my all time favorite moments.

Why do you love to dance?

There are a lot of reasons, but one of my favorite parts is probably the accomplished feeling that one of my teammates or I get when we know something improved.

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

To fly so I can leave whenever I want.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

When I introduce myself as Kellie Jean and people call me Kellie. I think that people assume that Jean is my last name sometimes. It’s kind of like if you tell me your name is Kean and I call you Ke.

If you could travel to anywhere in the world where would you go?

Greece. It looks beautiful.

Who is your biggest idol?

Clara Reinkemeyer. She was on the two LFDT teams that won at nationals. She is also just an amazing dancer and cares a lot about the sport.

What came first, the chicken or the egg?

I go back and forth but I think the chicken right now.

If you could be any animal what would you be?

Probably a squirrel because they seem to have a lot of care-free fun.

What is your biggest fear?

Spiders

If animals could talk, which would be the rudest?

Cats. They are not very approachable.

Summer or Winter?

Winter. My mom’s license plate is “pls sno”.
