Splurge or Save: Fashion Tips for Fall

Splurge+or+Save%3A+Fashion+Tips+for+Fall+14

Keeping up with trends can get to be expensive, especially when it seems like the new “it” item seems to change on a near weekly basis. For the early autumn season, there are certain items that are definitely worth the splurge, while many more exist that you don’t have to drop major bank on. Looking stylish shouldn’t break the bank, so here are some shopping tips and dupes for the season.

Splurge or Save: Fashion Tips for Fall 5Jeans: This season is all about simple looks with minimal detail. Jeans and t-shirts will be the go-to this September, adding personality through jewelry and shoes. This means it is almost essential to invest in a good pair of jeans that are both comfortable and flattering. Finding jeans that will last for months without stretching or ripping are important to get through the fall season and into the winter season. Just make sure that they feel as great on as they look. FRAME, MOTHER, and GRLFRND are great brands to look at for your perfect fit.

Shirts: White and other neutral-colored, plain T-shirts are big this season which makes it an easy save. To avoid shirts that look cheap, go for shirts without patterns and try to stick to solid colors only. A plain T shirt can look clean and expensive when the right accessories are added. ASOS has good quality t-shirts with great prices, as well as H&M.

Jewelry: Jewelry does not need to be super expensive, since this season the more necklaces, the better. Layering is just as trendy as it was during the warmer months and will definitely still be in style this fall. Shy away from overly bejeweled and look for more gold and silver jewelry when shopping for a more luxe look.

Shoes: Although they are hard to actually keep clean, white sneakers add the finishing touches to a clean looking ensemble. Whether you choose to splurge or save on these, the best looking sneakers are always the one’s kept the cleanest. Adidas has the OG white sneaker look, but try to shy away from the black stripes and look for more originality. Other great stores for the ‘shoe of the season’ would be Nastygal or Shopbop. Personal touches like patches, colored laces, and platforms all add diversity to an otherwise classic look.

With every new trend, another one will fade. For those who insist on keeping up with all the latest items of the season, it is important to budget. Some items will always be essential while others will be worn then forgotten. Check out these stores for September’s Splurges and Saves; and, hopefully you’ll find more that work for you.

Happy shopping:)
