Looking to close the season out in successful fashion, the boys volleyball team (23-7) played two non-conference games against the Wolves of Niles West (19-14), and the Antioch Sequoits (11-17). The Scouts missed hitter Joe Chamberlain in both games with a back injury.

The team headed south to Skokie to play Niles West on the Wolves’ home court. The Scouts squeaked out the W in one of their tighter games of the year with the help of strong play by Kevin Lamp. They won in two competitive sets (25-22, 31-29).

After the long hiatus of prom, the boys were back in action last night against Antioch in yet another away game. Lamp had a game-high 18 kills, but Kyle Waggoner was the the talk of the town, picking up where Chamberlain left off as he contributed with 7 slams. They won in two sets and reached their 23rd win of their season. With one game remaining, the Scouts look to extend their 4-game win streak into the playoffs where they play on Tuesday, May 22 after a first-round bye. The Scouts managed to secure a 4-seed in their sectional, just shy of Libertyville (#1) and Stevenson (#3). Free free to scope out the IHSA Boys Volleyball Playoff Bracket on IHSA.org

For their last regular season game, the Scouts will battle the Bulldogs of Waukegan Wednesday night at the Dog Pound.
