Scouts earn impressive tournament win

Auto+Draft+187

This weekend the Scouts (16-3) participated in the Libertyville Invitational Varsity Tournament alongside Palatine, Schaumburg, Prospect, Libertyville, Oak Park River Forest, Rockford-Jefferson, and Elk Grove. In pool play, Lake Forest defeated Palatine (21-25, 25-19, 15-13), OPRF (25-21, 25-19), and Elk Grove (25-16, 25-15). They won their pool and faced the Knights of Prospect in the semi-finals who they conquered 25-14 and 25-20. Finally, the Scouts took on the Saxons of Schaumburg High School in the championship game, where the Scouts went on to win in three tough games, 25-20, 18-25, and 15-12.

This was a big tournament for the Scouts and a giant tournament win to add to their regular season resume. They were also able to avoid the powerhouse of Libertyville as they finished 3rd in pool play and had their weekend cut short. Kevin Lamp, Joe Chamberlain, and Jake Danneker all represented well and were selected to the All-Tournament team.

Watch the Scouts continue their hot streak as they take on the #9 ranked Deerfield Warriors at home in the Competition Gym tonight.
