Friday, April 7th: Scouts vs Niles West
The Scouts are coming off a huge win on Tuesday vs rival Stevenson High School in which they slaughtered their NSC rival 14-0 in 5 innings. Christian McCauley was on the bump and only give up three hits and no runs. On Friday, the Scouts will take on the Niles West Wolves on the road in Niles.
Pitching for the scouts is Jason Cast, who missed the first four games of the season due to injury. Cast, a DePauw baseball commit, will look to keep the Scouts fans impressed from McCauley’s performance. The Scouts look to keep the bats hot on Friday night.

After their matchup with Niles West, the Scouts will take on the Wildkits of Evanston at their place on Saturday afternoon. Paul Turelli will make his first appearance on the bump this season as a starter. Turelli did close one game on the team’s annual trip to Myrtle Beach, where the team played their first four games during spring break. The Scouts’ stellar infield looks to continue their success. With Andrew Gough at third, Caleb Durbin at shortstop, Jonathan Salm at second, and Charlie Reinkemeyer at first, the Scouts have built a wall in the opening season and look to continue their defensive prowess. With Cast back in the lineup, the outfield may change. Brad Czerniejewski will be controlling the corner players from the field center field position and Brian Heidbreder and Drew Golde will hold court in left and right respectively. Coach Ray Del Fava will have to make a decision on whose bats are hot to complete the lineup.
Lineup for the Scouts:
- Caleb Durbin-Shortstop
- Drew Golde- Right Field
- Brad Czerniejewski- Center Field
- Paul Turelli- Catcher/Pitcher
