Robinson, Lanigan, Minetti, and Akintade qualify for IHSA State; Lanigan also qualifies as individual

The LFHS 400-Yard Freestyle Relay consisting of Collin Robinson (Sr.), Luke Lanigan (So.), Carlos Minetti (Jr.), and Oliver Akintade (So.), have advanced to the IHSA Boys Swimming State Tournament with a time of 3:17.10 at the LFHS Sectional on Saturday. The boys finished in first, ahead of the Libertyville and Highland Park 400-yard relay teams, by three and five seconds respectively.

Luke Lanigan also qualified in the 500-Yard Freestyle race with a time of 4:49.51, placing 22 seconds ahead of the second place finisher, Mundelein’s Jake Garcia.

Libertyville (234.50) placed first at the sectional, Lake Forest (212) came in second, and Mundelein (188.50) was third. The state tournament will be on Friday and Saturday, February 23-24 at Evanston Township High School.
