Though the 2017 basketball season is over for the Lake Forest Scouts, two players–seniors Justin McMahon and Michael Bogdanowicz–are still competing in the Country Companies IHSA 3-Point Showdown.
Each team in the state sends 4 shooting representatives to their IHSA Regional host site to compete before the Regional Final. From there, the top 4 shooters of all competing teams advance onto the IHSA Sectional. At that point, only the top four shooters from each sectional advance to the State Finals in Peoria, Illinpis on Thursday, March 16th. After advancing out of the Maine West Regional, McMahon and Bogdanowicz advanced again Friday night prior to the Waukegan Sectional Final between Evanston and Waukegan. McMahon and Bogdanowicz will join 62 other shooters from across the state to compete for the title of the state’s best 3-point shooter. Once a class 3A/4A Champion is crowned, he will compete against the 1A/2A winner for a chance to win the “King of the Hill” crown on live TV before the IHSA State Championship.
Last season, Michael Parsky advanced to the state competition. Congratulations and good luck to Michael Bogdanowicz and Justin McMahon!
