The Lake Forest Scouts rolled into Schaumburg’s Olympic Park on Saturday afternoon on a mission. The Scouts (2-1-0) were set to face off as underdogs against a Glenbard East Squad (4-1-1) that was ranked as high as #3 in some statewide polls.
The Scouts, however, passed the early season test by blanking the highly-touted Rams 3-0 in opening round play of the PepsiCo Showdown. Lake Forest received its scoring from junior Mary Gregg, senior Delaney Williams, and sophomore Priscilla Levy. The Scouts’ next game in the PepsiCo Showdown will be against conference foe Warren, who defeated Wheaton South in opening round play, this Thursday. The winner of that contest will face off against the winner of Evanston vs. Metea Valley.
