As the 21-9 Lake Forest Scouts begin their postseason journey today on the road at Grayslake North, two players largely responsible for the team’s success this season were elevated to All-North Suburban Conference recognition this week.

The Scouts, who finished 10-4 in league play this season, were led offensively by Halle Douglass, a sophomore combo guard who averaged 11.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.9 assists for the Scouts, who look to earn their second IHSA Regional title in as many years this week. Douglass amassed 333 points on the season and is widely regarded as one of the conference’s most versatile weapons. Her development as a player continues to improve and–barring anything unforeseeable–she could become one of the only four-time All-NSC performers in Lake Forest history after earning her first All-Conference nod last season.

Audrey Kaus, a senior forward who has valiantly battled a plethora of injuries throughout her career, toughed out a remarkable senior season for the Scouts. The All-American field lacrosse player demonstrated her toughness and willpower for the Scouts, especially on the defensive end of the floor, limiting the opposition’s best player well below their scoring average on numerous occasions throughout the year. Kaus played in 26 of Lake Forest’s 30 regular season games, and amassed one of the highest assist to turnover ratios on the team at 1.31, second only to Olivia Douglass’ 1.37.

As mentioned prior, the Scouts kick off their postseason run at Grayslake North against the host Knights at 6:00 p.m. They will face the winner of the Lake Zurich/Grant tilt, which will follow tonight’s game at 7:30.
