It’s that time of the year again as Homecoming is right around the corner. I know you are scrambling to find the latest trends and styles for the season to look your best. Luckily for you, I’m here to help make your life easier so shopping can be less stressful and you can strut your stuff with confidence. Whether you want to wear a bold pattern or to keep it simple, we’ve got it all here and for an affordable price.
Dresses from Left to Right: revolve.com $90, lulus.com $56
Shoes: Add a POC (pop of color) or a pattern if you please. Anything that is simple but fun will make the outfit much more attractive because it’s not just the basic nude heel, so have fun with it and mix and match colors with your footwear.
Hair: Do something different like a high pony or curl it. The more complex and fun hair style will compliment the simplicity of the dress really well.
Jewelry: If you want the dress to stand out the most, try a simple gold or silver bracelet. A helpful tip is to match the color of your shoes. For example, if you wear a white dress with pink shoes, add a pink bracelet. The more you coordinate your colors, the better your ensemble will look as a unit.
Dresses from Left to Right: revolve.com $79, lulus.com $89
Shoes: Stay simple. If you do a colored heel, it might clash with the complex pattern. Any nude or white heel will look perfect with it because you want people to focus on the dress.
Hair: Like the shoes, the simpler the better. Stay away from crazy curls with lace or suede. Try to put it up in a bun or ponytail or potentially even straighten it. You want to try and get it out of your face because your dress is already going to be the focal point.
Jewelry: A little goes a long way. Stick to simple rings and bracelets and if your dress has a V shaped neck, go for a simple necklace to compliment the dress, but not overpower it.
Dresses from Left to Right: shopakira.com $30, peppermayo.com $40
Shoes: Stay away from crazy colors. Like with material dresses, stay with solid, plain colors. If you do a crazy color it will take away from the dress and the shade of the shoe might not be exactly the same shade on the dress, rendering it tacky and unfitting.
Hair: Do something unique; you have a lot of freedom here. A lot of people don’t really do up-dos anymore, so stick out of the crowd and do something cute like a braid or bun! But, if you’re not into that, blow it out for a simple, chic look like that looks perfect with any dress.
