Holiday Winds and Holiday Brass to duel in Commons this Friday

Holiday+Winds+and+Holiday+Brass+to+duel+in+Commons+this+Friday

Every year, the band department celebrates the holidays by organizing two musical chamber groups: the Holiday Winds and Holiday Brass.  As the holiday break approaches, the two groups are preparing for the largest musical showdown in holiday music.

This Friday, the two groups will face off in Commons for the first time in the 5th annual Holiday Classic. Faculty judges will select the winner after the two groups play their best for the coveted bragging rights.

Student leaders of the holiday brass are junior Katherine Jemian and senior Cathal O’Sullivan.  The student leaders of the holiday winds are seniors Kathryn Lotharius and Sarah Tiba.

Be sure to support your fellow music students (including myself, a member of the holiday winds!) and visit the commons this Friday, December 8th.  All students and faculty are welcome to attend.  There will be hot chocolate and cookies as refreshments after the competition.  The competition begins at 3:45.
