They were neck and neck, and the LFHS girl’s 200 meter dash record was on the line. Haley Click, a University of Michigan Track and Field commit, crossed the finish line just milliseconds ahead of Mundelein’s top 200m runner. Moments later, a time of 25.39 seconds is announced. A new record holder was crowned for Lake Forest High School track.
The previous record–set by 2015 graduate Katie Bertram–ran a time of 26.38 seconds in 2014. Click, on her own Senior Night, broke the three year old record by nearly a second. As of this year, she, along with her teammates Sydney Leonardi, Kamilla Obrzut, and Ana Fran Curry, now also hold the 4×100 meter relay record at a time of 50.6. The University of Michigan is lucky to be getting one of the most distinguished runners in Lake Forest High School’s Track and Field history.
