Girls soccer slowed by Loyola Academy in low-scoring affair

LAKE FOREST, Ill.– The Lake Forest Scouts girls soccer team (2-3-1) put forth a valiant effort Wednesday night in a West Campus matinee against the highly-touted Loyola Ramblers (5-0-1), but fell short 1-0. The Ramblers, who came into Wednesday night’s game ranked 4th in the state of Illinois by maxpreps.com, struggled to get anything going against a staunch Lake Forest defense, stacked mostly with freshman but led by senior Christina Gregg and sophomore goalie Sophia Divagno.

The Scouts, losers of two straight games in the Lou Malnati’s Deep Dish Classic, will play their next game on Friday against an undetermined opponent in the North Shore Invitational.
