With Spring Break just ahead on the horizon, many of us might be having the desire to get fit in order to rock those Spring Break bods. Or perhaps, you are looking to improve your physical health simply for your own benefit. Either way–or whatever your individual reasoning may be–here are some fun ways to break a sweat here in Lake Forest.
#1. Orange Theory Fitness
Orange theory, located on Western Avenue in downtown Lake Forest, is a newer addition to the community that provides the ultimate full body workout. This includes rowing, treadmills, and various core and strength exercises. The unique feature of Orange Theory is that it includes the use of a heart rate monitor. During your workout, you can view the status of your heart rate on a screen in the room, and give more or less effort based on how hard you are pushing yourself according to your heart rate. With fun music and high-energy instructors, it’s a tough yet fun workout experience that will keep you coming back.

#4. Local Gyms
If you are looking for a way to work out, but are more inclined to do so at your own pace, or are too busy to fit in a workout class, joining a gym is a great way to stay active. There are plenty of local gyms that offer the essential amenities. For those who live in Lake Bluff, you can always join the Lake Bluff Rec gym located across from LBES. For those living in West Lake Forest, the Bannockburn Midtown is a great option as well. Other examples include the Lake Forest Rec center, Lake Forest College Gym, Lake Forest Health and Fitness, and you can even work out here at LFHS (down in the basement).
