Field House hosts annual Blood Drive

Fieldhouse hosts annual Blood Drive

The Lake Forest High School blood drive is today, Tuesday, February 27 from 8 am-2 pm in the Lake Forest High School Field House. If you are 16 or 17 years of age, you need a signed parental consent form. However, if you are 18 years old you are welcome to show up to donate.

They are giving out drawstring backpacks and coupons for a pint of Culver’s frozen custard for participating donors. Donating blood can help in treating patients suffering from cancer, bleeding disorders, sickle cell anemia, as well as many other blood abnormalities. About 5 million Americans need a blood transfusion, so your donations are incredibly beneficial. Donated blood is available to be shipped to hospitals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week once the proper testing has been done on the blood. One donation of blood can save as many as three lives, so taking less than 30 minutes out of your day to contribute has an incredible impact.
