As we know, the VMA’s were last weekend and, as advertised, were a big deal in all industries as music, film, and fashion combine for one night in New York City’s Madison Square Garden. For all the nominated celebrities there was high anxiety for who’s going to get the Moonman, but for us at home and the other celebrity onlookers, it was about the fashion. With hundreds of celebrities wearing the biggest names in high fashion, it was essentially a preview of New York Fashion Week. Every year, however, there is always debate on which star wore the best outfit and this year was another hard field to choose from. Here, though is my breakdown of the Top 5 Outfits from the VMA red carpet.
This Victoria’s Secret stunner shined in a sparkly magenta and black Moschino dress. This was Hill’s first VMAs and wowed the crowd when she first hit the carpet. The exposed one shoulder looks stunning with her high bun and the slit is perfect to compliment her long legs. This dress is from Moschino’s Fall 2016 collection, which you can’t even get your hands on quite yet. Overall, a round of applause to Hill’s fashion stylist who had her looking incredible in her rookie debut.
Beyonce and Blue Ivy
Could Beyonce have brought a cuter date? Beyonce, as always, looks out-of-this-world beautiful and following in her footsteps is her 4 year-old daughter, Blue Ivy. This duo had breathtaking, coordinated sequined dresses–although Bey’s had a ton of feathers–which only she could pull off. Both dazzled in the limelight as always, though. This time making it a family affair.
Hailey unveiled an edgy new look at the VMAs and rocked it well. Being the new face of the most recent Guess Campaign, she had to bring it and she did. Just like Taylor Hill, she has sheer cut outs that add so much originality to this outfit. Her jumpsuit is Georges Chakra and her new haircut was the final addition. Having her ex, Justin Bieber, nominated for a VMA, you know her glam team was helping her set the carpet on fire that night, and well, she did. JB, who?
Another Victoria’s Secret Angel hit the carpet and like Taylor Hill, looked heavenly. Yet again, we have another cutout dress, but this time it’s Givenchy and has star cutouts just for this occasion. All I can say is she and this dress are perfection, they definitely go well together and compliment her body frame. Can’t wait to see her kill the carpet again next year and in years to come.
Wow! This Balmain dress looked unbelievable on Steinfeld as this style is very different other because it added color, a good choice for Steinfeld since she’s only 19. The rainbow dress was so flattering and who knows, maybe she’ll be walking with the Balmain army for SS17? She looked super cute and this was not too risky, but just enough to make her look more mature and help her transition into the next phase of her career.
