GURNEE, Ill.– Last Saturday at Warren High School, three LFHS wrestlers were able to advance to the IHSA Sectional competition. Freshman Bennett Duggan and seniors Quinn Dailey and Caleb Durbin all made their way far enough into their respective brackets to qualify for Sectional competition.
Duggan, a freshman who wrestled in the 106 lb. bracket, beat a competitor from Grant before losing to an opponent from Warren in the final. Dailey, a senior who wrestled at 132 lbs., used a first round bye to rest up, then took down opponents from Round Lake and Grant in consecutive rounds before losing to a rival from Libertyville in the final.
All three wrestlers will take the mat this Saturday oat the IHSA Barrington Sectional. Duggan will face Marcus Santos (15-6) from Prospect in his opening round match. Dailey will face Dominic Tenyuca (19-13) from Jacobs, and Durbin will face Andy Polk (23-13) from Buffalo Grove in their opening round matches.
