Spring Break is soon approaching and making sure you have everything when you pack can get to be pretty stressful. Luckily for you, I’ve gathered a list of some of my must-have items you should absolutely pack before you sprawl out on the beach and embark on all of your Spring Break shenanigans. Grab these items now. Next week will get busy and you won’t have time to properly shop.
A Good Read
We know you’re probably ready to have fun all day and all night, but if you’re ever craving a break, I have a great recommendation for you. Curl up with this month’s Cosmopolitan or Teen Vogue. Get all the celeb news, current events coverage, and life advice you need. No one will blame you for taking a little time for yourself and you can head back to the party refreshed and inspired by everything you’ve read.
Portable Hair Products
Travel sized products are a must, especially if you’re flying. You need your obvious shampoo and conditioner, but a recommendation of mine is a sea salt spray to get those perfectly imperfect beachy waves on your vaca. Sometimes you’re flawlessly wavy with voluminous body and definition, but most times you’re knotted, poofy and greasy. My solution is with Herbivore coconut + sea salt beach wave mist in travel size. This mini on-the-go spray will “protect against the drying effect of sunshine, the aloe in this texturizing spray will keep your scalp moisturized, while it helps you serve up red-carpet worthy waves.”
The Take-Me-Anywhere Tan
Spring Break’s ultimate accessory is beautifully bronzed skin. Think twice before baking in the sun or splurging on a tanning package—there’s another way to get that envious tan. My go to’s are Kiehl’s Sun Free Self Tanning Formula and Tarte’s Brazilliance™ PLUS+ self tanner. These products help establish the perfectly convenient way to get a 100% natural-looking tan without the harsh rays of the sun. Color starts to develop within 2 hours an instant beautifully bronzed skin is just a step away.
Waterproof makeup in general is key for beach days, lounging poolside, and water sports. We want to have fun in the sun, but still look good. Streaks and mascara marks probably aren’t what you’re going for. Personally, I don’t think you need a face full of makeup for a beach day. My go-to is just some mascara to really make your eyes pop. My fav is Too Faced waterproof mascara. It gives you volume, darkens your lashes, and of course, resists all water conditions.
