Hurricane Harvey, the category 3 hurricane and tropical depression that struck Houston earlier this month, seems to be on its way out. Still, however, victims in Houston and the surrounding areas are still in dire need of clothes, especially shoes, as much of their city remains under water.
Head varsity baseball coach and English Teacher Mr. Ray Del Fava took little time to do his part in responding to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. He has donated a box of Lake Forest Scouts baseball clothes to tropical storm victims via the University of Houston Head Baseball Coach, Mr. Todd Whitting.
Both Todd Whitting, the Cougars’ baseball coach, and Kelvin Sampson, the head basketball coach at the University of Houston, are asking coaches across the country to send excess gear their way in order to help the displaced victims of the tropical depression.
With Hurricane Irma ready to strike Miami and the surrounding areas very soon, more areas could be in need of gear in the near future.
