The girls lacrosse team earned the two seed in the Gurnee (Warren) Sectional. They will open the IHSA State Playoffs in the regional final against Vernon Hills High School. The game will take place on May 21st, 5:30 PM, at West Campus.
The Scouts come into the playoffs with a (10-9) record versus the Cougars (5-11). They have not played against each other this season, but have played 8 common opponents. In those games Lake Forest has a record of 4-4 while Vernon Hills is 2-5 with a game against Libertyville tonight. The Scouts are led by University of Chicago commit Audrey Kaus who has put up 49 goals in her senior season. Caroline Skinner leads the team in assists with 19. The Cougars are lead by sophomore Carolyn Uhm in goals, assists, and ground balls.
The winner of this game will take on the winner of Lake Zurich (#3) and Libertyville (#6). The Scouts have already beaten both of these teams by margins of at least 12. The Stevenson Patriots were seeded first in the Gurnee Sectional with a record of (15-3). The Scouts will need to win the first two games to get a chance to take down the Patriots in the Sectional Championship.
