Cekay snags first scholarship offer from Colgate

Cekay+snags+first+scholarship+offer

LAKE FOREST, Ill.–Class of 2019 Scouts wide receiver Ryan Cekay received his first scholarship offer from Colgate University, a FCS school who plays in the Division 1 Patriot League Conference, on Thursday night.

The Raiders, who are coached by Dan Hunt, and are located in upstate Hamilton, New York, were impressed enough by Cekay’s measurables and statistics from his firs two seasons with the Scouts to pull the trigger on offering the high-academic junior wideout.

Cekay, who has visited and played at showcase camps at Northwestern, North Carolina, and Notre Dame, led the Scouts with 23 receptions for 443 yards this season on the edge despite seeing a lot of specialty coverages aimed at containing him. His four touchdown receptions led the Scouts receiving core and his 73.8 yards per game was also a team best. At 6’4″, Cekay’s size and speed certainly yield Division 1 potential, and many believe more offers are soon to follow

Look for Cekay to secure more offers soon. In the spring season, Cekay is running sprinting events for the Lake Forest High School track team.
