One thing that sets Lake Forest High School’s athletic programs apart from those of surrounding schools is the incredible support of our Booster Club. Lake Forest student athletes will be able to benefit from this incredible support this summer by way of the LFHS Boosters summer grants program.
This program grants $150 to students so they can attend a summer sports camp to take their game to the next level. The camp directly run by high school coaches or it can be another sports camp–as long as it is for a sport with a team at Lake Forest.
All current freshman, sophomores, and juniors are eligible to send in an application, which will be available starting April 10. To apply, student-athletes should go the LFHS Booster website and click on the “Summer Camp Grants 2017” link. Once you get to this site, the first thing to do is schedule an interview. Interviews are available May 15,17,18, 22, and 23, and will just take a mere 5 minutes of your time. You must bring the summer camp grant application sheet to the interview.
The interview will be a short discussion about the sport you play, the goals you have in that sport, and how the camp will help you achieve those goals. After the camp, write a short note about what you learned and mail it along with the camp receipt to Ellen Marwede, whose contact details are listed on the same page as the interview sign up.
Lake Forest student-athletes should certainly take advantage of this opportunity to get a leg up before next year’s season starts.
