Whether you like Drake or not, in 5 days and continuing for the next few months, your ears will be flooded with songs from the self-proclaimed “greatest rapper in the game.” We have no clue what kind of bars are going to come with this album, but I am sure that we are going to have to hear these songs all over the radio. Mainstream media has blown Drake up considerably and has, in turn, made him one of the richest, most influential people in media, specifically in music.
Ghost written or not, Drake has come out with music that most people have been able to like and get behind which has brought him an impressive amount of fame. Along with that fame the standard for his music doesn’t necessarily increase as he produces more music. In fact, it has come to the point where his fans are just waiting for new music to drop because his past albums have been so overplayed. Drake has been working on this project for a long time now, building up the hype as long as he possibly could. On March 18th More Life is set to drop but will this project really bring more life to Drake’s career? Or, will this project be another overplayed, mainstream, sound-the-same album as some of his past projects like Views, What A Time To Be Alive, Nothing Was the Same, and If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.
In my own humble opinion, Drake will stray from his mainstream media style and display his ability to rap more like the underground rappers that are currently on trend.
